Monodendri (or Monodentri), is one of the most beautiful villages of Zagori (Zagorohoria), built at an altitude of 1060 meters, 39 km from Ioannina. The name derives from a big tree that existed until 1840. Until 1753 it was a single community with three districts (Vitsa, Upper Machalas, St. George). The village experienced great prosperity during the 17th and 18th centuries, when benefactors built mansions, churches and schools.
Today Monodendri is an attraction throughout the year for all guests, both from Greece as well as from abroad.

How to get here:
- Follow the main national roads to the city of Ioannina (NR Antirrion - Ioannina or from the Egnatia Motorway).
- Head north of the city of Ioannina (via Ioannina - Kozani National Road) and to the 18th km turn right, towards Zagori and follow the road signs to the village of Monodentri.
